ASHBY Jonathan (Jon) Died at home 21st August 2010, aged 29. Born in North London, resident of Cliff College, Calver for ten years, lived mostly in Chesterfield for the last seven years, then in Derby from 2007 - 2009. Purchasing manager for Winster Foods, Chesterfield, for five years, musician since childhood. Treasured husband of Laura who he married in August 2009, adored son of Paul and Carmel, awesome brother of Katherine, Mike and Emily. Jon was larger than life. He was a man of deep christian faith, an all round pianist and keyboard artiste, bassist, music teacher, church organist, accompanist, worship leader, preacher, artist, baker (Bakewell pudding parlour), gourmet chef, entertainer, event organiser, builder, home maker, gardener and so much more. Jon lived life to the full and was a loyal friend to many. He touched countless peoples lives and all of us have been changed and enriched by him. His funeral will be on Wednesday 1st September, 1.30pm at Cliff Hall, Cliff College, Calver S32 3XG, burial at Curbar Cemetery, and afterwards at The Bridge Inn, Calver. Donations to The Jon Ashby Memorial Fund for the training and support of young musicians at Cliff College. All are welcome to attend.
