As you took your place,
Will brighten my memories always.

Report this message By Hazel Crawford-Upton on 19th Jul 2010I've only just heard the news so apologies for my late response. What a great picture - just as I remember Rita when I was a Saturday girl at C&A all those years ago. Rita was a joy to work with and a truly lovely person.
Report this message By Brian Austin on 16th Jul 2010A little thank you Rita from two geordie fans, thank you for a friendship that has lasted for many many years. A lady who gave Pauline and I lots of many happy memories from holidays spent together, visits to Derby, visits to Newcastle, I will mention one visit a long time ago, a night out playing bingo, Rita silenced the whole club when she called house for the big prize of the night, Rita we will remember and love you forever, Pauline & Brian.
Report this message By wayne harrison on 13th Jul 2010From my Tribute as read at Mum's funeral.
"As for my personal memories: Well, she made a mean meat and potato pie, she always overcooked her vegetables, she was scared when it thundered and lightened and would sit on the stairs to hide from it, she was terrible with money (which is odd when you think what she did for a living), she was endearingly dizzy and dipsy, she was a worrier and would sit up into the early hours and wait for me to come home from a drunken night out, she was always there to listen to my troubles (and I had many) but she would never judge. She was My Mum."

Report this message By tracy fox on 7th Jul 2010You were someone I could talk to;
That no one can replace.
You were someone I could laugh with;
'Til tears ran down my face.
You were someone I could turn to;
When I needed a helping hand;
You were someone I could count on;
To advise and understand.
You were someone I thought more of;
As each year came to an end.
You were my dearest mother;
And also my dearest friend.
Thank you for the memories;
That are yours and mine alone;
For they recall so many special moments;
That you and I have known.Love you Mum, Tracy xxxx
Report this message By Kelly Fox on 7th Jul 2010God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He took a look upon the earth and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
Gods garden must be beautiful for he only picks the best
God knows that you were tired and a cure was not to be so he closed your weary eyelids and whispered come to me.
Rest in Peace RitaKelly x

Report this message By Dawn Monk on 7th Jul 2010What a lovely picture of Rita, that is just as I remember her. Every Saturday as a teenager I would go into C&A and say hello. Rita always looked very smart and well dressed., and being tall and slim she always stood out amogst the crowd in the shop. At peace now, R.I.P, you will never be forgotten
