• Although i havent seen...

  Although i havent seen Sophie as often in recent years, i will always remember the times that i have trained alongside her and more recently raced against her and cant ever imagine a time when i will get into a pool and not spare a silent thought for both her and her family.
  She was such a kind- hearted girl and is a sad loss to the world of swimming......... you will never be forgotton Sophie.......... RestInPeace <3

• I was Sophie's PE...

  I was Sophie's PE teacher and taught her for about 9 years. She was a truly inspirational young lady who was a role model to all her fellow peers. We often chatted about swimming, as like Sophie I was also a member of the City of Leicester Swimming Club in my younger years.

  I cannot believe that such a talented young lady was so tragically taken from this world and my heart goes out to her family during this very sad time. She will always be an inspiration and a role model to follow by example.

  As a swimming mum I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to Sophie's family.I only knew Sophie through her excellent achievements posted on results notices and in the local paper.She must have packed so much in to her 16years.As a widow of someone who died suddenly and unexpectedly I have some small measure of the dreadful grief you must be feeling.My heart goes out to you all at this sad time.

• I didnt personally know...

  I didnt personally know Sophie but i have swam against her when i used to swim and i know that she was extreamily talented, and will be truley missed. my heart goes out to the family and friends of her. when i swam against her she was so respectful and congradulated me at the finish, a very compassionate person was shown to me and i was truly grateful when she did this good deed. my friends knew her and they all said she was a very smart, funny and genuinly nice person. we will all miss her in our own way and hope the family can come to terms and find some peace in the fact that Sophie touched so many peoples hearts.

• Having been best friends...

  Having been best friends with Sophie for most of Secondary school, I was in a state of shock when i heard the news. The lengths that Sophie went to to keep herself healthy was inspiring! Just to think the best of us could be gone so easily, really brings home to you how short life really is!

  The last time I saw Sophie was on the day that she died! She was stressing because she didn't know where to go for Netball, when she was back from finding where she had to go we only had moments left together before she had to rush of for her next lesson! The one thing that i wished i'd done was just HUG her, instead of the rushed See you tomorrow!, but who was to know that there wasn't to be a tomorrow for her!!! :'(

  Goodbye Sophie!!

• It is a horrible...

  It is a horrible thing to hear of Sophie's death my condolences go out to her poor family.
  Sophie was in my art class at QE and our interactions were brief but to think such a beautiful, quiet and kind girl is dead is too much to take in.
  I would like to have thought that Sophie and I could have been friends if given the chance and her presence will be missed by all.

  Sophie, you didnt know me particularly well but I trained at City of Leicester for a year and a half, during which I came across you siwmming in the youth squad above me. You always seemed such a lovely person and so dedicated to your siwmming. Even though I left City of Leicester more than a year ago, I was deeply saddened upon hearing the news last night and would like to send all my condolences to Sophies family and friends at this time.   loved most, its all too shocking for any parent to take in, as I also have a 14yr old who too loves swimming and just the thought of something happening like that to anyone so young and talented is really unbearable for the parents .
