  It seems like yesterday that he was was my English teacher at the High School. He was an inspiring teacher, who enthralled us by reading SciFi stories to the class - I think second year. I remember the Ruum as the first.

  He was a really nice person - I watched him for years as a Newsnight presenter.

  A tragedy to learn just now that he died two years ago.

  It seems like an age since MacCormick was on TV but just seeing his face brings back the warmth,. knowledge and skill we remember only too well.
