  • What a woman and...

What a woman and a fantastic Aunt.My first memory is being taken to hospital in a laundry basket after putting a garden fork through my foot when staying with her in Healing village.I must have been four and our relationship blossomed ever since.Always had time for me whatever the circumstances.A jolly lady with a very spiritual take on life which is probably why she spent so much time taking care of other people, at a professional and personal level. Even to the point of looking after senior ladies that werent that much older than herself.Never a dull moment and great New years parties when we were kids.
Her legacy shall always be alive in my mind in the same way that Nannas' still does.
I honestly thought she was invincible and miss her and love her dearly.

Alfreda was a great person, I miss her very much, as she has left an emptiness that no one else can fill as she was unique. Alfreda was a tower of strength and had a great sense of humour. Love from Krissy (Meadows)xxx

  • Alfreda was my much...

Alfreda was my much loved and admired cousin. We spent some wonderfully happy times together, family celebrations and holidays. She was unique and very special and has left a gap in our lives that will never be filled. She has touched many lives during her time on earth and made us all the better for knowing her. I, and my family love her, will always love her, and she will never be forgotten.

  • My mum, always had...

My mum, always had an ear for me or anyone and would drop everything to be wherever she was needed. She adored my children and would laugh about their antics which they told grandma swan about every sunday morning(after the Archers omnibus of course!)she loved to be with company and she loved to be quiet too. Nothing stopped my mum from doing anything she wanted to.Going deaf in her mid thirties and having to relinquish nursing , she retrained as a beauty therapist, which she had longed to do for so long. This led on to her work as an alternative therapist and healer, from where she made many associates and long time friends. Mum travelled far and wide with family, or to seminars, or just on holidays. She was always there for us all but was devastated by the untimely death of my sister, her first born, earlier this year and i cant help thinking she never got over this.Love for you, will always be there, not just from me and my family but by everyone you came into contact with and made that little bit of a difference. Our loss is the Angels gain, love you forever mum,Allyson xxooxx

  • I was privileged to...

I was privileged to have her as my grandmother and not someone else as she was so different to others, which made her special. There was no-one else around that could do what she did which fascinated me and still does. I am glad that she was here long enough to see me grow up, which gave her great enjoyment. I'd have been lost without her. I don't know what I'm going to do now, but I'm sure she'll be watching.

  • I didnt know Alfreda...

I didnt know Alfreda personally or very well. She came into my work practically twice a week. She was a lovely woman, always so happy and always with a tale to tell that would make me and my colleagues smile or laugh.
She had such an amazing air around her, something mystical. She always had great advice and a smile on her face which was contagious. I shall miss her visits to my work a lot.
Much love to all who knew her and may she rest in peace.

  • Alfreda had a personality...

Alfreda had a personality that was larger than life. There were no dull moments if she was around. I saw her regularly over the last few years and was always greeted with warmth and a lovely smile. She had the ability to make you feel better about yourself, giving praise and assurance, making you feel proud of any accomplishsments however small. She just seemed to know what was needed and had so many gifts and qualities that I couldn't possibly describe. We always laughed and she never failed to leave me with a thought provoking comment - this because she held strong opinions on any topic you could mention. Her mind continued to be like a sponge and her ability to retain information never ceased to amaze. Each time we parted there was always that smile again and a caring hug. I shall miss you Alfreda you were a unique and special lady, as I am sure they are finding "upstairs". V
