Report this message By Carole Beasley on 6th Apr 2009In each of us you’ve left behind a little piece of you.
This will comfort us in bad times and help to see us through.
I know that as time goes by, easier the hurt will get,
I want to make you proud and ensure the children don’t forget. The best Dad and Grandad you will be forever in our hearts.
I want to make you proud of us, but where should I start?
The world has lost a special man, to me the very best,
And now you have left it up to us, it’s time for you to rest. You are on my mind at bedtime and are my first thought when I wake,
I am trying hard to be very strong for the children’s sake.
But now you’ve gone, please give me strength, I feel so empty inside,
I never thought it would be this hard, my fears I‘m trying to hide.
Report this message By Carole Beasley on 6th Apr 2009I am so grateful that through everything you have shared milestones with me.
Birthday parties, sleepovers and having boyfriends back for tea!
You humbly walked me down the aisle on my Wedding Day.
How proud I was to have you on my arm.....I hope I did not need to say.Knowing that you considered my husband; Mark both family and a friend,
Made it very easy to start a family of our own,
Ensuring your genes would never end.Our first born Lauren cheekily christened you with your named legacy,
That’s how it began your 10 Grandchildren had their own Grandad Florrie!
Your miss-hearing caused us lots of laughs; not least to Caitlin and Aeryn
Both became fondly known as your very own Skatewing and Little Herring!Harry would march around at your command copying your stance,
Before wiggling his hips and singing at the top of his voice,
“Grandad Gotta Dance!”You spent some great times with them all.
Chasing them around the Disney Parks.
They’ll miss your shouts of, “Keep your sticky fingers off the wall!”
And trying to keep up with your larks!
Report this message By Carole Beasley on 6th Apr 2009Dear Dad
For a long time now, I’d hoped and prayed this day would never come.
I keep waiting for you to walk back through the door;
It can’t be real........ you’ve gone.I have so many happy memories throughout my life so far,
I can’t believe you’ve left me – but I don’t want our loss to mar.
I remember crying by the front door as my Daddy left for work,
So excited by your return – You were never one to shirk.Days in the garden pushing my little red dollies pram.
Lighting bonfires, chasing leaves and playing ‘catch me if you can’.
Days out at the weekends, walks in the woods and by the sea.
We would get exhausted first, by your everlasting energy.Stories of your youth spent at the Busy Bee,
The bikers of the old Ace Cafe,
Pie and mash, Jellied eels and endless cups of tea!Always ready with a hug, our teenage years were eased along.
You were such a sucker for our cries when things went horribly wrong!
Out came the dreaded hanky to dry away the tears.
Leaving us to recoil in horror as its contents held our worst fears!!

Report this message By Debbie Harris-Crook on 20th Feb 2009You might have been the saviour of the Triumph and Matchless names of which I am extremely proud. However, to me you were the most amazing and loving Dad and Grandad anyone could wish to have and who always put his family first. I will really miss you more than words can say. Love you Dad
